What are the top things you guys look at as far as high country buck habitat. Most of my scouting is done through Google Earth, so any terrain features or anything you look for would be helpful. The high country I'm looking at is about 8000 feet in elevation. Thanks

Most of the terrain bucks spend their summer in is similar, however one drainage or ?Bucky? area from google could be a bust when on the ground. There are so many variables!! State/regions can be different from range to range. One thing in common I will share, is big bucks love to have visibility and a little wind/breeze if they can. Keeps the bugs down and caries that alarm system. You might identity 10 great looking areas from the sky and find that 2-3 of them hold good numbers of animals. Plenty of books out there for you to read on the subject, I would start there before burning good faith on a question like that here. Read up, then come in with something to talk about. I promise, you'll get more respect and response here.

Sit tall in the saddle, hold your head up high, keep your eyes fixed to where the trail meets the sky...

The ones I have seen in the high country. Have a good look out with the wind to their backs. But the smart bucks hang out next to the barn or sprinkler system. Where you and I can't go. ?
