I asked this question in the utah forum with no answers so i decided to ask the same question in the mule deer forum. Does anybody know how this hunt turned out the year?
Anybody know someone that had the tag and connected on a good buck?
I have enough pts to draw next year and just wondering what the hunt was like. I have never set foot in the unit and dont know anything about it.

It is a fun hunt, you see a lot of deer and a lot of mid size bucks. (You can typically find a 160-170 deer on this hunt, the 180+ deer are becoming more and more scarce. Weather is a factor, deep snow in Wyoming will drive some of those bigger bucks in. Every year is slightly different depending upon weather. I didn't go out this year but have been on the unit 4 of the last 5 years helping friends.

Crawford is a fun hunt because of deer numbers and good rut action. A nice buck (170ish) is possible. A lot of crab claw 20? junk bucks chasing does.

Could still be a fun if you do not have the expectations on killing the buck of a lifetime and just enjoy the outing and the time away from work. never know, it could happen on the right year!!! However, not what it was 10-15 years ago in the winter months with the rut going!!! But then that is the case on a lot of units in different states.

its all a matter of perspective. 10, 15 years ago there were guys on here saying that the hunt was ruined. Just go for it. There's ALWAYS a few nice bucks around. Hunt hard and with a little luck you might shoot a big one.
