Henry Mountains Buck Odds at Expo

So I was just looking at the odds of drawing an expo tag. Henry Mountains Buck is 1 in 10,729 (last year). Crazy!

The Henry?s management tag is 1 in 2,650! My son was offered that tag last year as an alternate, but there was only a week to the hunt and he couldn't get time off, so he passed on it.

I'm sure if I make it down there I'll donate my $5 for a handful of tags.

That's just about what the odds are for a nonresident to draw the Henry?s rifle tag in the random draw. I am sure the odds must be better for you residents.
Since your son was offered the Henry?s management tag as an alternate does that mean he was next in line after the regular draw for that hunt was filled?
Just curious because that's the way it's done in Nevada. The returned tag goes to the applicant that was next in line in the draw.
In Nevada we also have to check the box if we wish to be considered as an alternate if one becomes available.

I don't ever go to the expo expecting to draw a tag that's for sure. I just like going and looking at all the big deer heads and wishing I had $10,000 to spend on all the cool stuff there. Ha ha

Yes, he was next in line. There just wasn?t time to make it happen.
