Bison Units: Book Cliffs vs. Henry's

I have 19 Bonus Points and a non-resident for the Utah draw. Looking at the draw odds, I may only be a year or two away from drawing my bison tag. For those of you that have been lucky enough to hunt bison in Utah, what would you recommend? I have seen that the hunter success rate on the Book Cliffs is usually 100% and the Henry's has been lower (60%-80%). I want to do the hunt DIY with my brothers and plan on scouting, hiking my butt off and have an ATV.

Thoughts? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I prepare to enter my Utah Big Game App in the coming months.

Thanks!

Looking at the odds on the Henry's you could be another 13+ years to get that bonus tag! The Wildhorse bench tag for the bookcliffs you could get soon if people stay put. I wish you luck but with my 17 points I might be dead before I see a tag!

LAST EDITED ON Dec-10-16 AT 07:54PM (MST)[p]I'm a nonres with 20 pts and am pretty sure I still have years of applying before I'll draw a tag. There have been gobs of years where they haven't given high bonus pt pool nonres tags. Pray that bison numbers continue to prosper so they offer a tag or 2 to nonres.

The cool thing about scouting buff besides getting to know the country. It is best to find them about 2 minutes before you shoot. You can find them in the evening and come morning they will be 7 miles away. Good luck drawing. Rutnbuck

I just shot a buff on the wild horse bench. We saw a lot, most were in areas that are difficult to get to. Overall a great hunt. My buddy had the Henry mtn tag last year and said it was the toughest hunt he has been on. Good luck in the draw.
