First time post.
Would love some help in Nevada unit 207 for desert sheep. I knew I would draw this tag, because I have know time now with a huge project starting up. Not looking for anyone's honey anything would be greatly appreciated.
Starting to scout in August

healthy number of sheep live throughout the unit but mainly in the Pilot Mountains. Telephone Canyon and the Volcano Peak area are good places to start

Thank you for the info.
207 is outside of hawthorn
Around luning and mina, about 2.5 hours from Carson city. It is aways away from veags. Thank you for the offer you are more than welcome in my camp.

Thank you NVBighorn.
Quick ?
I was in the unit for 4 days back in 2013 and the first group of mature sheep we seen had a 160" ram and my buddy's wife took him down, I started looking at sheep summary sheet from 2013-2016 for the size of Rams and the average seems to be mid 150" would you say that is true? Or hunt hard get away from the roads and people Thank you for the info

Congrats on the great tag.
Whatever NVBighorn suggested, I'd take that info as gospel. He seems to have his finger on the pulse of Nevada sheep.
I have only helped with a hunt near 207, but so I'm less qualified than many.
My comment is about the Nevada unit averages. I think those statistics are skewed low, due to first time sheep hunters drawing tags and shooting the first decent ram they see. Those same stats show that NR hunters almost always take bigger rams than the average. I think NRs are more likely to feel that this is their only chance to kill a ram, so they generally put in more time and effort or hire a guide.
Hunting hard and long and laying off the trigger always improves your odds at taking a 160 + ram. That's true in any unit or hunting any animal. If it were my tag, I'd spend as much time as I could and look for one that's bigger and older than average.
Best of luck and let us know how it goes.

Any one who would like to help is more than welcome in my camp. Thank you very much for the help and your time.

Little big Horn, thank you very much for the Insight that's kind of what I was thinking.

My plan is to start out August 12 and go for 2 days and setup some cameras, go check them at the end of August head out for a trip or 2 in September, see what is out there in the rut. Then Go hunt deer and spike elk in 076 and come back head out for 2 more days. I will spend 3 days out the there around the 10th of November. Hope I have it figured out and head out the 18th start my sheep hunt adventure.

hey REDMAN1, I think we might know each other, last september on the winecup road near goose creek, I had3 flats and only 2 spares! Were you one of the guys that came along with a patch kit and compressor? Congrats on the tag!

Yes sir that was me/us.
Thank you. Did you draw anything this year? Did you guys get some Toyo Tires? It's a good thing you were in Boots and not flip-flops we were discussing to keep driving if you were in flip-flops. Lol.
