After booking this dall sheep hunt 2 1/2 years ago it's finally here. Sitting in the airport now thinking about all of the workouts and time at the range and hope it all pays off with a nice dall sheep and maybe a mountain caribou or wolf. With 3 days of travel before I am high atop the makenzie mountains and my mind and expectations running wild are there any last minute words of advice or anybody want to share their NWT sheep hunt stories? I can't believe it's finally here.
Happy hunting season!!

Good luck have a great time. Take lots of pictures and hope you will post some when your home.
Who are you headed out with?

Outfitter is South Nahanni Outfitters. This is my first sheep hunt and first Canadian hunt so would take any advice that's out there

Im guessing a backpack hunt, be in the best shape you can and no your gun and if you plan on a possible long shot practice at the ranges you feel comfortable. I realize this is late for your on your way but hopefully you have done this.
Again good luck

Climbing those hills day after day is a mental game as much as a physical one. Keep reminding yourself you prepared for this. And don't forget, its suppose to be fun. Relax and enjoy the adventure. Best of luck. You are going to have a great time.

The trip has had a rocky start so far. Had to switch flights because of delays in original flight that would have missed my connecting flights. Finally arrived in Vancouver last night late only to find out that my rifle and optics that I had in gun case are still sitting in Chicago airport. I sure hope they make it to Whitehorse today before my bush plane flight leaves early Friday morning. Maybe I should look at this as the 1stmental test of many that I know I will have while out on the mountain. I'm sure everything will work out. I will post pics of this adventure when hunt is over

Good Luck looking forward to reading about it.
