Just returned from taking my daughter on her first big game hunt on the Crow Reservation of Montana. First up for her was one of those big dry cow free range buffalo they have up there. We located one from over a mile away and moved in above it and stalked it to 135 yards for her. Couple of shots from her 6.5 Creedmoor w/ 127 Barnes bullets and it was down. Next day I took a nice 14 1/2 inch antelope at 365 yards w/ her little 6.5 and the last day she took a very nice non-typical antelope with one shot from 160 yards. Good time, great friends, and unforgettable memories! If anyone is interested in hunting up there PM me.

There's no way that little bullet broke both shoulders on that buffalo! I've read on here that's the only way to kill them!:D Nice work 30hart! Your daughters goat looks way cool@

Thanks guys, I appreciate the kind words. Little huntress wants a bear next spring now.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-22-17 AT 04:23PM (MST)[p]There's nothing finer than seeing great trophies taken by my friends! She's such a cool gal that I couldn't be happier for her....and you.

That's just perfect!

PS: in honor of where Zac "should" have been sheep hunting next year, we went into the Wind River Range and watched the eclipse. It was awesome but I miss my son.

Congratulations Hart30 and good for you, making it possible for your daughter to have a great outdoor experience. Thanks for sharing.

Zeke, I'm happy to hear the you are keeping the memories of your son alive and real. Missing him is exactly what a father should be doing. He would be proud of you. I hope his family is beginning to heal and once again feel the joy of living well, every day.

You too, are a great father.
