Finally got my hands on him. 202 B&C. Rumor is another one a hair bigger was killed in Montana as well. 2 200+ sheep in one state in one year is pretty impressive!

Horns and skull 58lbs, 17" bases 8 1/2 yrs old.

There was a ram taken by a kid in the breaks that may be the new record for the US. one of the top rams of all time for sure if the green score I heard is correct. I have pictures but I'm not going to say much more until they put their story out however they choose to. I thought they would have by now .

He's a pig that's for sure.

That's the one I referred to as a shade better ocho. Pretty amazing a state produces 2 200+ rams in a season. Someone asked my buddy if he was disappointed someone shot one better than his, his response was "Hell no, I just killed a 200+ ram I'm happy for the kid!" I've seen pics as well, it was scored by someone that knows what their doin rumors I hear are 207-208.

That is the big one, I didn't know they had put pictures out to the public yet. the hunter is from Washington.

I haven't put my hands on it but they say the bases are 19".

From what I can see it appears to me that neither of those rams are super old.
Genes are the name of the game. The Breaks seem to have the recipe for big Rocky Rams.
Those are incredible animals and I'm happy for the lucky hunters.

but then, what the hell would I know about it anyway

do agree on them rams dying at a relatively low age, getting shot notwithstanding...dispersal phenotype, still expanding on the range...living large, dying young

No, 18 " bases. my bad . I have not seen the ram this is what they said.

Last I heard they still think it may be the largest ram ever taken in the US. I didn't get a score but it will be 60 days in a few weeks so the story should be known soon.

Both of those sheep are definite giants. It'll be interesting to see what these two sheep end up scoring. I bet the first one is very close to the 204-205" range like they measured it. The second ram is a giant as well, but I think the first ram will be the bigger of the two. John knows his sheep for sure, but he definitely has a habit of inflating some scores.....the governors tag ram a couple years ago that he scored at 198" ended up at 192".

Justin's ram was just officially scored 208 3/8 B&C. there will be a panel scoring of course. ties the world record.

This ram beats the US record by 3".

Not bad.
