Barbary Sheep

So I lucked out and have drawn a NM Barbary sheep tag. Having never hunted this species was hoping to receive some tips from Monster Muley friends. I have till Feb to scout and try to figure out where I'm going, but wanted to know if anyone has hunted Units 32,34,36,and 37 before? Any tips or recommendations would be more than appreciated

i've hunted it. lots of access issues. there is some public land closures in exchange for private land access so you will want to check that out. look for areas with close topo lines and longer and harder access routes and you should find sheep. good luck!

Hunt around the borders of the closed parts of those, and you'll be in the general area. Personally, I think they swapped the better public barbary land for not as good private land.

Also, if you don't have one already, I would strongly recommend you get the NM BLM chip for your GPS. Fences rarely follow property lines and they are not always well marked. The chip will help a lot to keep you out of trouble.
