By some miracle, I drew a Mount Dome pronghorn tag. I only moved to California at the beginning of last year and quickly made friends with a ranch owner who allowed me to take two large Blacktail last year. I decided that hunting is definitely something I wanted to continue to pursue, and entered the draw for X zone, Elk, and pronghorn. I was absolutely astounded to draw a general season rifle tag from mount dome, as there are only two tags available. I'm assuming, since so few tags are issued in this zone, that information on hunts there is limited. I could not find any real resources on hunting this area with any searches I've done online. I'm aksing for any info on hunting spots, private vs public land, guides, Zone 1 info, or just information on pronghorn and hunting in general. I most likely will be doing this DIY, but I am open it all suggestions and information. Currently have an old Australian made .243. Should I upgrade the scope or look into getting a .270?
