Utah desert sheep

Man! What a good point! I'll head out immediately. Should I get a tag or anything? Or is it cool to just start shooting???

You just joined a very small fraternity.
I'm betting if you were able to randomly call all of the big game hunters in the US, you would have to call many thousands before you found someone else who had taken a desert sheep. But because your trophy is so rare, it makes for what I think is, the ultimate hunting adventure! Love to hear more about it, but thanks for sharing.

Sheep photos have been very sparse on this site this year.

congrads on a fine desert bighorn.....you did well

Thanks guys! It was a great experience to say the least. I had the San Juan south unit, south of Monticello. It is a huge unit with more land to look over than a guy ever could. I'm no writer so I wont go into a lot of detail. I can tell you it's a tough hunt! And living 5.5 hours from my unit didn't make it any easier or cheaper. But it was well worth it! I am grateful I could draw my tag at 40 years old rather than 76 that the odds book told me. Sheep hunting is addicting! And if any of you ever draw a tag I would be more than happy to give you a hand.

Congrats on a great ram. Especially at such a young age ! I may get a tag at 76. But who knows if I will be that lucky. :)
