Good crowd!
My son and I got to sit with Zeke and his lovely wife and daughters (their scraggly bearded husbands ain't much to look at! :)
We ate some good vittles. Saw pictures of most of the sheep taken in the state.
We were entertained by watching some deep pocketed nimrods vying in auction for items and sheep tags. (Statewide Rocky went for $120,000)
Two total strangers (to me at least) won the raffle sheep hunts.

All in all DW, I didn't win a thing, but I'm guessing we may have raised close to a million for future sheep projects.

Not a bad evening to be a part of.

I know 1 of the guys who won a sheep tag.Good guy, goes every year.
He?s just not connected to the inner circle.
One of the speakers mentioned something I didn't know was the Zion sheep herd is sick.
I didn't here any details.

fullcry, Last spring Park visitors started noticing that bighorns in the Park were coughing, indicating the sheep had been in contact with domestic sheep and were exposed to Mycoplasma ovipneumoniae. That quickly spread outside the park to the hunt unit sheep and many sheep started dying both in and outside the Park. Optimistic plans to transplant hundreds of the Park sheep throughout the state have been canceled.
To this point no one knows how bad the Zion event is, but it appears that the die-off has taken a pretty good tole. Only time will tell but it appears that Utah's premiere desert sheep unit has lost it's luster for many years to come.

Good company, a good purpose, and good results. I agree LBH, hard to beat!
