I just thought I would share that my wife won a guided bear hunt from Rafflehunts.com in Idaho with Table Mountain Outfitters. I cannot believe the generosity from this business they are helping my wife?s dream of harvesting a bear with her bow come true!

Here is an update; my wife just got back from bear hunting with Table Mountain Outfitters and to say that her hunt was amazing is an understatement; the staff are true professionals and my wife and I cannot thank you enough. Before I get too much further into the story I want to thank Rafflehunts.com for providing this hunt for my wife. Tom from Rafflehunts.com is just starting this business and payed for this hunt out of his own personal finances; what he is trying to accomplish with this business is a great thing and it makes a dream like this come true for my wife and I. Thank you Tom for your generosity I have faith that your business will grow. I encourage you all to check out his website.

On to the hunt;

My wife took off Saturday night and got to Camp ready to hunt the next morning to say she was eager would of been an understatement as it has been her dream to harvest a bear with her bow for several years.

Day one- The guides and my wife take off with their dogs and the dogs catch scent from a bear they release the dogs and the chase is on. They chase the bear for several hours before they lose the bears trail; people who think that a bear trees every time you put the dogs out on them need to go with Table Mountain Outfitters on a hunt there is a reason they are so athletic. The team heads back to set up for their evening stand hunt. I will give you an idea of how the hunt unfolds from a third party perspective; they use dogs in the morning but they bait in the evening. I was curious as to why they didn't run dogs both morning and evening and I got an education as to why. If they run the dogs at night the guides take a risk of having wolves kill their dogs especially if the dogs somehow get lost or do not return before dark. Ah now it makes perfect sense to me. So she sat on bait until dark with only a small bear come in that she decided to pass on.

Day two and three involved mostly the same scenarios with day 3 the crew getting on a monster and chasing it for 7 and a half hours; I won't go into details but it was a hard hunt without a shot at a bear. Day 4 was about to get AWESOME! Day 4 started out as usual when the lead dog caught scent of a bear and they let the dogs loose. The bear treed within 400 yards and the hunt was on! My wife got down to where the bear was and made a great shot on the bear with her bow; the bear ended up dying about 1000 yards from where they originally put the dogs out. What a great experience that this was for my wife! Thank you again to Rafflehunts.com and Table Mountain Outfitters for making this dream for my wife come true! Pics to come if I can get educated enough on putting up on this sight.

Table Mountain runs a great operation. They are class people all the way. I am glad your wife had a great hunt. She probably has the bear fever now.
