I know it's early, but I plan on cashing in on my 13 bear points for fall of 2014. Where would you put in if you guaranteed any tag in Utah? Who would you choose to run their dogs? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
That's easy Fall San Juan. You'll have plenty of people wanting to take you out if you can draw that tag. Most sought after bear tag in the state. Highest average age of harvest too.
San Juans is a sure bet for a boomer bear.In the last ten years my buds and I have caught some of the biggest in the west there.There are some boars over 5oo lbs in that unit.
San Juan, La Sals and Boulder are all good. Pick which is closer or the one a houndsman that will run for you knows. Most units are good in the fall.
