Weight estimate

I have a lot of people ask me how much my cat weighed. We were so far in with a TON of downfall so we didn't want to attempt packing it out in one piece. So we full body skinned and quartered it and never got a chance to weigh it. This is the only cat I've ever seen but he measured 98" from nose to tail and had to order the biggest form made and still had to add to the form for it to fit. You guys that have a lot of experience around lions....what's your weight guesstimate? I'm 6'3" 200 lbs.

From the second pic he looks no smaller than 130 and no bigger than 160. DO you have him mounted yet? If you can give me a measurement from the tip of nose to the base of the tail and a circumference measurement at the largest part of his belly I could probably get you closer. What was his skull size and what region did he come from? Congrats on a great cat.

He measured 98" from nose to tail. I don't know belly circumference but his chest measurement for the form was 34" and his skull scored 14 7/8". I shot him in Central CO.

Depending on how much meat was in his guts I would say he was somewhere in the neighborhood of 150 pounds. Damn fine cat.

I agree. 150-160. Nice Tom I'm sure most guys are telling you it was more but lions are the one animal people almost always over judge.

Thanks for the input. I've been telling people that I guessed him between 150-160 so it looks like I was close. Just didn't want to be that guy that we all know.

I don't know what it would weigh, but I would like to compliment your taxidermist. That is one of the most realistic mounts I have seen.

Thanks. He is an awesome taxidermist. This was actually his first mountain lion mount and it is the best mount i've seen.

Cat looks better then 150#. Mount looks fantastic, but toes on rear left look a little jacked. All the toes on my cat are messed up. Again that cat is gonna look awesome.
