Looking for some info for a Spring Bear hunt in Idaho on Unit 10 or 12. If anybody has any info on some good areas and can help out I would appreciate it. I have been reseaching kelly creek and the surrounding areas. Also wondering how long snow stays in these areas in the spring.

I was looking into that same unit 12 a few yrs back snow was still there middle of May not a lot of access lots of wolves and some grizzlie better units for black bears. I wouldn't try to run hounds my opion

10 has lots of bears I guided by Kelly Creek for a couple years. Haven't been there for a few years, but would second about not running hounds...lots of wolves.

Their are some bears up there. I've hunted unit 10 & 12 by Gravey creek, Saddle camp road. Been up their the last 7 years in the spring. Some times up can't get to the top until mid June. I've killed a couple of bears up there. Lots of wolves until you have a Wolf tag in hand.
