Idaho Spring Bear Hunt

Hello,

Just trying to get a jump on my spring Bear hunt. I had a LE bear tag in Utah last spring and I wasn't able to seal the deal. I am now addicted to bear hunting, so I am going to be going to Idaho this spring to hunt them. I am hoping for a little help, If there was one or two units you could hunt in the southern half of the state and have a good chance at a bear which ones would they be? I am just hoping for a little help and direction. PM me if you'd like. Thanks

I don't have too much experience but from the guys I've talked to, there are more bears the further north you go. The southern end of the state doesn't seem to have many bears. I hear you can spot and stalk them way up north where they are more numerous. I'd actually like to do Idaho too one of these days.

I agree that the more bears are further north. I would get the information and pick one of the units that allow you to have two bear tags. Be nice to have a second in your pocket after you learn the unit.

They give two bears in some units for a reason. Lots of bear. Another plus is several of the two bear units still allow wolf hunting that late into the spring. Just another plus.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-22-13 AT 03:09PM (MST)[p]I think most the two bear units are only $30 for nonresidents too. +1 on more bears up here. Southern units have bears, but as you go north there's just lots more animals.
