I have been trying to choose a bear hunt for next year and have decided to go to NW Montana. Longbow thanks for the info on Alaska, but I do not think I will be able to make that happen. Anyway, I am heading up to region 1 to hunt bears next year in the spring. I have never been to the area. I just plan on glassing, cruising roads, and walking logging roads. I will be there for the last 6 days of May. Is it realistic to think that I will see 3 or 4 bears? Thanks for any advice.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-12-14 AT 08:36AM (MST)[p]Yes if you are hunting the right country you should see 3-4 bears in a week. What I've found is about half the bears I see are stalkable and half are not. Most importantly you need to be hunting the right areas. PM me if you need help on that.
