Which Foxpro?

I am looking at getting into coyote hunting, and I have been looking at the Foxpro calls. They seem like they would be the easiest to start out with. I'm just having a hard time deciding which one to buy. I want to buy one that is nice enough that I won't have to upgrade. Are the $600 ones really that much better than the $300 ones?

Nice thread! I got an old johnny stewart and I'm about due for a new caller. Hope we get some posts from fox pro owners, I'm leaning that way too just don't know which 1 like yerself!

I have a fox pro fx3 my buddy has the fox pro fury. The fury isn't quite as loud as my fx3 but both call in the yotes. I would suggest going with a mid grade one as soon as you buy one they will come out with a better one just like computers. Save yourself the money for gas to go hunting. I'm going to sell all my stuff if your interested shoot me a pm.

I have a spitfire.

It's called in several hundred dogs.

If you're just starting out, learn how to hunt coyotes before you spend a bunch of money. Otherwise, you'll be very disappointed.

Hint, killing coyotes consistently doesn't have much to do with having the fanciest caller. There are few things more effective than a lip squeak. If you go buy some fancy expensive caller, set it out in the sage and crank it up, you're more likely going to scare coyotes away than you will bring them in.

I have had both started out with the old reliable mouth calls {AND these are still some of the BEST calls available} I have a old Johnny Stewart that has about 40 feet of speaker cable & tons of calls It has killed yotes by the hundreds !! I got a FoxPro Spitfire 2 years ago for Xmas sent in the memory card & had them re-program {HIGHLY RECOMMEND} it has also killed a bunch of yotes !! I have also been out with just my mouth calls & still killed a bunch of yotes !! all that said any of the Fox Pros are good & they all do the same thing just cost more $$ .. Keep in mind that NO matter how much u pay for a call if the critter u are calling sees u smells u or something just doesn't seem right too them they are NOT gonna come in !!!

I couldn't agree more with smitty, I have a few e-callers (turbo dogg) and I call in 90% of the coyotes I kill with the vermonator hand calls. Save your money and start with the hand calls, to many people are out there educating them with the ecalls now days. Every hand call sounds different in the hands of the person using it, every foxpro sounds the same except volume. My personal favorite hand calls are the thumper and long rang tweety.
