so my window of opportunity to tag a mtn lion in my no dog state is small. i was putting all my eggs in the tracking after fresh snow basket. that wont happen this year, though it almost panned out for me last winter. any words of advice for cold calling? i know its a stretch but i live in a nasty overpopulated cougar area. ive missed shots on 3 diffeent cats over the last 2 seasons due to 'buck fever". theyre here... what would you do if you were me, in an area with lots of cats but an abnormally warm, snowless winter? cold call or sit and glass funnels?

Put in Miles looking for tracks in the Mud. Once You Find them Do Call sets and Watch the Birds. Gray Jays Hate Cats and will Bark at them, Robins, Pinion Jays, Blue Jay also. Hunt the Ridges and Glass and listen for Bird Activity. Sit and Watch as long as you can stand it after your last call. Do not Skyline, Move slow and Glass a lot. Your worse Enemy is your own actions. Sneak in sneak Out Do Not Over call. Do Everything you can to limit Educating the Cats.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------support your local guzzlers. OHA life member, lapine oregon
