Archery spot and stalk bear

Where are you looking at? I'm no pro, but follow snow line and new growth as it moves up the hill. South facing clear cuts or anywhere else you can cover lots of ground with your glass.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-29-15 AT 07:59AM (MST)[p]It is difficult, but way more rewarding than using bait.

Try to find natural food areas, and either still hunt into them, or use spot and stalk if you can see them from a distance.

Another method is to try and call one in with predator calls. This can be pretty exciting, because some boars will come in pretty fast with the intent of killing whatever is making the cries. Be careful they don't circle behind you. They'll catch your scent, and be gone.

We've called a couple in and it is lots more fun. There's a great old Wayne Carlton video that is a very informative and entertaining watch. He pepper sprays one at the end at point blank range.
