I was lucky enough to harvest this great bear with the help of Mike Beaudette and Chuck McKenzie. After not really knowing much about bear hunting, Mike was kind enough to offer to bring his dogs over from California. Mike and Chuck have four great dogs and truly love to run bears. If anyone is ever lucky enough to draw and needs help these two guys are great. Oh, by the way their dogs are second to none. I would like to thank Mike and Chuck. There is no way I could have gotten this nice of a bear without their help. Thanks again!

LAST EDITED ON Sep-22-15 AT 00:12AM (MST)[p]Opening day we decided to down to a canyon Kevin,as seen some tracks. We got to rigging around 6am, went about 3 miles before the road got to rough and we turned around on the way back we got a good strike but the dogs couldn't move it so we roaded them a few hundred yards and they hit it up the hill and jumped it fairly quick. He treed about fifteen minutes later but didn't stay long. He treed again about a half mile away. We hiked in got a short look and he bailed, freeing again in the bottom 500 yards away. We got there and after evaluating kevin passed on the boar. Later in,the day the dogs got smoked by a blonde bear thatjumoed out on the road. after 16 miles we picked up the last two Sore footed we rested them Wednesday. Thursday we couldn't get a track moving at all and the dogs were beat from cold trailing in the heat on the rock. Friday was the last day i could be there and the dogs were pooped and sore from some hard hunting. Friday morning we left at day light and about two miles in got a box rocker strike. They headed out of there and had him jumped and treed in 20 minutes. Just a little over 1.8 miles. We walked and new it was a taker. He was big and it's only 5% percent non color phase in Nevada. Good hunt!

Just got my bear skull back he officially scores 20 14/16. Was hoping he was over 21" but I'm still super happy! Thank again Mike!
