I haven't really been keeping track of how Utah lion hunting has been the last few years and have just bought points. Is there a unit that's outstanding and worth this many points this year? I already have a pretty good one on the wall, so really only looking for a great hunt or I will just keep doing a point every other year.

I don't have nearly that many points, but I put in for the Cache last year, didn't draw, ended up buying a harvest objective tag that started in March. I wanted to try and track one down without dogs, or call it in with a predator call. Long story short, I logged 36 miles hiking on 4 different trips, ended up cutting a big Tom track and got some dogs on it. They ran it maybe 1000 yards. 163lb Tom. A few years ago I'd drawn the same tag and got a decent 120lb Tom, just got lucky as hell.

So the moral of the story I guess is, if you want to keep stacking points go ahead, but if you get the hankering to hunt a lion, you can always pick up a harvest objective tag and keep you points.
