My son is turning 21 in June and I want to get a fall bear hunt for him.
I have never hunted bear or even looked into it. I usually spend my time avoiding bears.
He has always wanted to kill a bear
Any suggestions of what is best state and a good guide?
I live in Texas and will most likely drive
Any help will be appreciated

I'd take a look at New Mexico or Arizona. Both states produce some great bears with a fair chance at a chocolate or cinnamon bear. As far as specific outfitters, can't help you on that. Best of luck!

The critters have to win every time. I only have to win once.

UPDATE

sorry its been so long but thought I already posted this.

We ended up using Arizona guided hunts (Pat Feldt).
It was a tough hunt but he was successful in killing his first bear. I would recommend Pat he tried hard to get us a bear even though it was really hot and seemed like nothing was working. We called this bear in and it stood up on its hind legs. Jordan shot it right in the chest. It was an awesome hunt. Pat has a video on his web site or youtube Jordan Phillips Arizona bear hunt and it comes right up. hopefully I can get the pic up
