The boys got it done

I just got back from a week hunting bears/camping in Idaho with the family. We always have such a great time, I love spring bear hunting. The girls weren't too serious about killing bears this year (they have both killed bears before), but did hunt a few evenings and got to see a bear. In fact, everybody got to see bears, and both boys took beautiful spring boars. Jonny took the cinnamon with archery and Ethan got his first bear (black) the last 15 minutes of the sixth and final evening of our hunt. Persistence pays off again!

I feel so blessed to have a wife and kids that love to camp and hunt with me. I didn't get a bear this year, but helping these two boys find success was much more rewarding than my own.

Congrats. Totally awesome there! This is the first year in ten years I missed going to Idaho for bear. Some situations got in the way of a couple of the group and we will be looking that much more forward to next year.

Bear hunting is a fun hunt that is addicting.

So how does Idaho work? Can you just buy a tag and go? do you have to register bait sites? Is it way crowded?

Over the counter tags. Some units allow a second bear permit for very small charge. Some units the wolf hunt is still on and over lap.

Don't know about bait regulations, we just spot and stock.
