I just got offered a fall bear hunt over Labor Day in Manitoba and I am really looking forward to the trip. We are hunting with Trail End Camp and Outfitters.
I have never bear hunted before and I was wondering if you guys had any tips for telling the differences between a boar and a sow? I will obviously hold off on shots if there is a single bear with cubs, but I was wondering if there were any other good ways to tell the difference? Also, are there any characteristics to look for the tell how big a bear is? I am typically a whitetail hunter in Nebraska so I am very inexperienced at bears.
