Planning a Grizzly hunt, what rifle would you bring. I have a 300 win mag, 338 Lapua, 458 win mag, 348 Model 71 Win, or should I go by a 375 something?

I would bring the one you shoot the best.

Please post your report. I am interested in doing a grizz hunt in the future

I killed an interior grizzly this past June over bait. Shot was @ 100 yards---I used a 375 Ruger. Other hunters there used 375 H&H.

Spot & Stock I would probably use the 300 Win Mag with 200 grain partitions. But really whichever gun you shoot the best is the best. 1st bullet counts----you have to hit them in the boiler room.

Any one of the cartridges you state you have will get the job done. My granddad used a .348 Winchester in his younger years for all big game, including grizzly. My dad killed numerous inland grizzlies with a Remington 760 chambered in 06. One of them was a large sow that had claimed a bull moose he had killed. The sow charged him when he returned for another load of meat. She made a great rug. I carried a .458 when I worked up north. Came close to having to use it a couple times on coastal browns. Glad I didn't have to pull the trigger on them cause up close even with that weapon shouldered I felt real small!

You've got the .458. Might as well use it. It's the caliber guides used to use to stop a grizz charge in Alaska. I think they switched to something else now.

No doubt it will knock the snot out of a grizz.
