So the book cliffs archery only units have been eliminated and if I read correctly you cannot use a rangefinding sight such as the Garmin xero for bears but you can for big game? Anyone have some insight on these changes?

Pg. 24. Archery field regulations
?You may not use any of the following archery equipment to take a bear:
? Arrows with chemically treated or explosive arrowheads
? A release aid that is not handheld or that supports the draw weight of the bow
? A bow with an attached electronic range-finding device or a magnifying- aiming device?

Well I'll be damned. Weird they won't allow it on bears, but don't care about using it on anything else

I would bet they forgot to change it there when they changed the law. Call the dwr and bring it to their attention. Maybe they will give a tag.

Haha can't wait for the next typo they make if that's the case!

What a bunch of asshats. They really should limit who can answer phones and give people direction. It's not the first time a know-nothin employee answered the phone and gave bad direction *cough* Nebo bighorn *cough*

I guess it makes you wonder who is watch and reading post on this site ? Well calling the secretary probable didn't work.

That was no accident. I talked to that specific biologist. The WLH question didn't ask about the nebo, he only asked about gov tag in general.

"I don't care if the season is closed. Get off your butt and go hunt them"

Looks to me like they are just trying to
keep bow hunting a little bit based on hunter skill and fair chase.

Big game would fair better if hunting regs in general would take a sharp turn in that direction across the board.
