    AZ. ELK UNIT 22 ARCHERY

Unit Quality=Poor to horrible. One of the lower end units in this state for elk. Hunt hard, you should be able to get on bugling bulls and get some chances at some 6x6 bulls. Quality compared to other surrounding units like 23 is embarrassing. 22 gets hammered.

    Draw Results are up

You don't need a guide in that unit. The problem is going to be judging antelope reasonably.

    Unit 33 coues deer

You can try but it's just not realistic with the heat rays unless you are pretty close. A lot of these deer bed in thick areas you cant glass into. It's doable but can be brutal mid day. Early-Mid November would be better for that.

    Unit 33 coues deer

And it's usually brutal hot that time of year. Be prepared for 15 minutes of glassing time each morning and the evenings are pretty much a bust. This year in October it was 105 at camp during the day. The deer ran for shade as soon as the sun hit them. Long hot days but yes they can be...

    Unit 33 coues deer

33 gets hammered. Look elsewhere IMO. If you think Mexico is crappy you will be really disappointed with Arizona Coues hunts. If you are happy with a small 3x3 you should be fine. If you have goals of something larger I'd look further south.

    Toyota Tacoma or SxS?

Some of these pictures on this thread aren't even in Arizona. Anyone that has been on these rough rocky narrow roads in southern Arizona knows that a side by side is 10 times as fast and smooth as any truck or tricked out 4 runner, ranger, wrangler, Colorado, tacoma etc. A side by side with a...

    Arizona Giants Hitting The Dirt

I shot an AZ velvet bull last year on June 25th. Didn't lose an ounce of meat. I would do it again tomorrow. It's really not that hard. Beats sitting at home.

States with points need a re-boot

The only helpful solution I see is increasing population numbers. More drinkers, more winter range work, more predator management, more studies, help from private land owners etc. There is a lot of land that can hold animals that doesn't. Points or no points doesn't change much, odds are getting...

States with points need a re-boot

Tags are getting harder to draw, point system or not. There is no good answer. Supply is low and demand is high.

    Cous vs Blacktail

I've hunted both quite a bit. The blacktail is much harder. Once you figure out the glassing thing the coues hunting gets easy. blacktails are in some thick nasty country that you can't see 50 yards in. It's tough to get a good strategy to consistently kill one. Add the fact that the land is...

    unit 10 Youth Deer hunt

Are you a non res? There isn't a ton of deer in the unit, it's more of an elk unit. Finding a 4 point might be tough. If you guided look at Exclusive Pursuit, they focus on unit 10.
