The "lesser" units all have good bulls too. I feel like if you wait out for a premium unit, you might still be waiting a few years for it...possibly giving yourself one chance. Why not put in for something like 4/5/6/7/8 and draw this year? Then maybe you could draw it again within the next 8...

With everyone holding out 'til next year combined with the guys who are going to submit their paper applications this week (because they didn't catch the change in the regs), I like my chances of drawing a tag!!!

Can't go wrong with Steve Chappell. He seems like a heck of a good guy. Another route could be A3...I see them a lot around here (here meaning AZ) and they seem to be top notch too.

I personally would rather hunt now than wait another 5+ years. Maybe go for 6A like some of the others have said. You'll have a pretty good chance at a good bull. Then keep putting in for Unit 23 for your first choice and hope in the future you get lucky enough to draw that tag. And if not...

Just about any unit would work for you! Probably something between units 4 and 8. They all have plenty of bulls and are easier to draw than those premium units.

I'd be putting in for one of the premium early rifle bull hunts. Dry or not, that would be a dream hunt!

With 7 points, if you really want to make it happen this year, you would probably want to put in for any unit between 4 and 8. All of those "lesser" units hold quality bulls...you just have to put in the time and effort. Really just choose one and go for it.

11 points gets you pretty much any premium late hunt. I'd say go for it! Personally, I'm kind of hoping more people go for the "wait til next year" approach because of the dryness, so I have a better chance at drawing! Haha. Good luck!

If you logon to your portal account, go to your dashboard and see if you can see your current bonus points. If your bonus points are showing up correctly, then your portal account is set up right. Just go back to the home page of the portal account and click on Apply For the Draw.

Ouch. Of course when you have a tag, they never walk in that close!

Maybe look into Wittman. It's in the northwest valley right by Lake Pleasant. Most of it is yet to be developed, but you could get acreage for really cheap then build on it. Like 5 acres for $30k or something like that. Food for thought.

There are a lot of good elk units here in AZ. Obviously the few real trophy units, but even the "lesser" units all hold good bulls and are easier to draw. The late rifle hunts are also a little easier to draw than the early archery hunts. As for specific units, you can't really go wrong just...
