    Paramount Pro Colorado

when using powerbelts, that 270gr platinum would have been a disaster on elk. Very poor choice of bullet for an elk. I suggest you do some research on the lighter weight powerbelts so you have a successful season.

    A little Hawken work

I picked this up many many months ago and did a little more work on it yesterday. This is an ultra rare factory walnut stock from the early 80's during their first few years. CVA pretty much used beechwood, BUT, those early years, they had a limited supply of walnut , and I got super lucky and...

    New Blackhorn 209 Quick Loader

Yeah, a bit pricey for what it is, but it does like a well designed and made product. Anymore, I purposely slow down my reloading after a shot, so I can listen to the animal running through the woods.

    Hunting advice.

Never had BH209 draw any moisture over the years i shot it. No need to push a load out at the end of the day either. Load it, keep it dry, wipe it down it the rifle gets damp from rain. Never had the need to tape a muzzle. Always figured that its easier to point the barrel at a slight...

    CVA MR-X

As we all know, I am a big fan of CVA guns since a young age. I had a customer come to me and ask me to get him set up for a solid 200 yard rig for NM elk. Well I picked out the paramount, but he was later talked into buying the CVA Accura MR-X .45cal.. Ok cool! not a big deal. Boy was I wrong...

    New to muzzle loaders

IMO i'd stay away from the X cva guns. Just got in an MR-X and its a turd. Going back to the company for replacement. Super heavy trigger, the scope rail came all burred up, forearm sits cocked sideways. I've heard folks are having horrible accuracy issues with them as well. Never got past...
