Mike, we spent time around Grasmere a couple of weeks ago and didn't see anything to speak of. I wish I had better news, I think we're going to head west of the res this weekend.

Elkboy-, if you wouldn't mind I'd love a PM as well. I've got a 5-year-old WPG who's been limping on his front leg for the last 2 to 3 weeks after a hard run/hike. My normal vet can't find anything with x-rays etc. very similar to BPK's situation.

Was on the border of 40/42 today in areas we've always found deer and saw very few (3) deer, no bucks....saw more elk than deer, hopefully the next couple days brings in the lower temps and precipitation....

Out of curiosity where did you hear about the possibility of IDFG looking at the owyhee 2 point hunts?

andrew12gauge I tend to agree with you. I grew up hunting 39 in the 90's, took some good bucks and we were able to really get away from most other hunters by hiking in a couple miles. However, I worry about what making 39 into a controlled hunt might do to the units surrounding it- you mentioned...
