Hey Bates7 Sorry to hear that you had that flat and buddy troubles. I'm glad you got to see and almost get a bull. 4 years ago I was solo the whole time and had to go home early for some family reasons 1/2 way into the hunt...always regretted not sticking it out, so this year I was committed...

How'd you do? I ended up with a nice bull on the second day. Good thing my friend came out from Phoenix as I got the bull 1/2 way down the canyon.

I heard him first, feeding towards me as I was glassing shooting spots 300 yards away across a canyon. I knelt down to see a small section of antler through a basketball-sized hole in a juniper tree at 40 yards and decided I'd take a shot if offered. He lowered his head to take his last bite...

Looks like we might be on the other side of a canyon from you. If we're not seeing anything we might wonder your way.

What part of 6A will you be hunting??

Hopefully this will be some consolation: nothing ever goes to waste in nature. Your loss is many other's gain: coyotes, birds, insects, bacteria...all necessary in the circle of life. Nothing lives unless something else dies. Koombaya :-)

Thanks Guys for your advice. It makes sense to grow the points a couple more years and try for a true trophy hunt. I didn't see anything in 49 3rd season that would make me want to burn them there. Take care

Hey guys...how about a little help here...let's say rifle bull elk next year non-res with 8 points...what units would you recommend? Thanks in advance

I'm starting to plan for next year. If you had 8 preference points and wanted a great chance at a good bull, which units would you look at? I can do bow, muzz or rifle.
