The devastation in Southwest WY last year was huge - I would give it a four years if you are able to. 80+ is tough in WY now and it may not improve for while if we another bad winter. In my regular units it was was almost impossible to find a 3+ year old buck last year
I hunted it a few years ago. Very Good unit. Nice elk but I would not consider it for max points. Lots of grizz - we saw grizzly almost 50% of the days we hunted/scouted. Including getting woofed at by a mad momma griz. Also had wolves move in one canyon and quiet the bulls...
I did it for a week before my buddies showed up. It was very frustrating seeing bulls I could not go after because I knew mama Grizzly was in that draw as well so no way to cut one up at dusk alone. Getting woofed at by a mama Grizzly will change your perspective - Hopefully reduced...
Thinking about bringing the air rifle up and maybe plink some potguts between prime scouting hours but was not sure if there are very many up there.
Thanks in advance!
Dan
Nice
Good luck to your son.
I have to admit when I see all those cedar patches that have burned in Utah over the last 10 years I get excited for the improved rangeland
