Heading out tomorrow. Not looking forward to the 2,000 ft elevation gain but it is elk paradise up there.

I don't mind at all. It is a draw unit in Colorado. That is the fattest bull I have ever seen. He is got to be over 6 years old. Probably around 8.

That is my backup location for the unit. It is proven to produce good bulls. I'm trying for a great bull in that first area where I filmed that fat bull but I need a helicopter to get in and out of that. 2180ft elevation gain is going to be brutal.

We live within the city boundaries so this buck is untouchable (Forbidden Ground). No firearms (including bows) can be fired.

Muley buck update. The backyard buck showed up again today. He is much bigger.

Does anybody have a guess on what that bull scores?

I have hunted the same unit three years in a row and this last year was the worst. Only small bucks and everyone was shooting them.

Yes what is the fine amount and has anyone ever been issued a citation for this? I've looked everywhere and can't find what the fine is.

When I see only one buck in an area that big I choose to pass so the herd gets a chance to rebuild. The fish and game can't manage at that level only we can. But it is up to the individual to make that call.

I especially like the ATV races in the morning. Everyone from town drives in and unloads there atvs and race up the mountain to claim there rock. Lots of tags and young bucks. Hope you like 3 point bucks.

Horses are quite like elk so I don't think the elk get spooked so much by them. Cows are noisy with all of their bellowing which puts the elk on edge so they avoid them more. Just my opinion. Hondo
