I just picked one of these up...give me two weeks and I will have a review for you...Over powered for the whitetail woods here but I was getting frustrated not being able to range consistently past 450-500yds with my others...not that I shoot that far but I do like knowing how much ground to cover.

It's a fun unit and an unreal hunting experience. It is also a tough draw...something like 14pp for a 50% chance at drawing with a special tag and 22% in the regular draw. Edit: I should add those number are for a non res.

Travel hunts are always a limited window...I hunt all day...maybe a mid morning nap...but really its boots on the ground all day start to finish.

This reminds me a lot of the time I drew an elk tag in the red desert...obtaining general information was difficult...everyone assumes its a slam dunk unit.

The "Mine Activity Areas" in Thunder Basin...are these areas hunt-able outside the fence? The National Forest MVUM only says the roads are subject to relocation due to mining activities.

Do you know if they like generic...I'm on a budget. Compared to elk I get that mule deer have a smaller rumen and are picky eaters.

I am currently rocking the Ridge Stove from Davis Tent...great stove just heavy. Before the upgraded I had a loner 10x10 canvas tent and used a generic sheep herder style stove. Something like the Kni-Co would be sweet due to the size and weight savings for your application

@mmwb That part of the country is really striving to hit weather BINGO. Looking at the extended forecast the weather should get back to seasonal norms, but the only job you can have and be 90% wrong is weatherman so who knows. My OnX map is marked up looking like a Rorschach test...glassing...
