I have tried almost all of them and the Alaskan Guide is the best IMO.

Great Pack, I have the Ultra and Icon Pro and Icon Pro is a much better suspension. I dont think you can go wrong with the Icon Pro for the money.

Straight spotting scope is the answer. I switched from angled to straight and have loved it. I can switch my binos to the spotter with no tripod adjustment and the spotter is pretty much right on the animal immediately.

No experience but the 15-45X looks very tempting.

I always wait the buck out and let them get up naturally. If you try to get a buck out of its bed odds are very low you will get a shot. Be patient and wait them out. You may spend 10 hours in the sun but that is what its going to take to have the highest possibility of success. Best of Luck!

Big Bucks are lazy they do not typically just wander around. With it so warm I bet he is very close to where you last saw him but just using the cover and staying in his bed until after dark.
