No more governors tags for AZ

MD numbers have never been lower, sheep numbers haven't exploded with all that money and Antelope numbers are terrible. Elk and the other species are doing just fine. AZGFD can easily make up that money with their limited tags they're offering. As for price increases they're probably way over...

No more governors tags for AZ

It hasn't been decided yet how they will do the 3 tags other than starting in 2026 there will be no more auction tag. Time will tell if the new strategy makes the same money or close to it. One thing is for sure all the money from the auction tags so far hasn't put more MD on the landscape in...

Arizona leading the way, auction tags to be history

The only 3 species where auction out did raffles were Mule deer, Elk and Bighorn. All the money in the world hasn't helped the MD at all. Elk are doing just fine and Bighorns in AZ do ok until disease gets them which is usually do to contact with domestic sheep and predators.

If you ever look at the pictures for the deer and elk they are almost always in velvet usually killed within weeks of the tag being valid and right before they strip their velvet and the regular hunts start. If you are also familiar with AZ you know hunts start in August and then there is an...

The raffle tags have also had nothing but a positive effect and the now 3 raffle tags will do the same. Your accusation about the money and how it is being spent is pure BS. The 3 raffle tickets will still all go to the HPCA and if you can prove it doesn't by all means please share.

No more governors tags for AZ

There is still OTC deer tags. The AZ residents just got tired of all the NR coming down for the hunts and got the OTC tags for NR put at a 10% cap, something that should have been done long before the influencers showed up. Honestly OTC mule deer tags during the rut should be eliminated for both...

I hated the fact that they paid those guys but it was a pretty good deal for the department from a business standpoint. They made a great deal of money off the exposure they got from those guys to put back into wildlife.

WARNING - Scam Sonora Outfitter. BEWARE

You really put yourself out there camping right by the check station. 4 miles from I-19 and 23 miles from the actual border. I never said anything about the illegal traffic and I agree trash and traffic is way down from what it was 20 years ago. In fact on the 5 trips I've been down south this...

WARNING - Scam Sonora Outfitter. BEWARE

Born and raised in AZ and I can assure you I spend more time on the AZ boarder in one month than you have in your last 6 trips and this year is by far the least amount of Border Patrol presence I've seen in the last 20 years. Arivaca check station closed, highway 83 closed, 82 closed 191 south...

States with points need a re-boot

NR are 10% total, before AZ changed the allocation the 10% cap was maxed out in the bonus pass, to keep NR applying AZ changed the percentage to the new 5% in the bonus pass and the up to 5% for the random portion.

States with points need a re-boot

Are you saying you would rather see a 90/10. The way AZ's draw is now for the premium hunts It's more like 15/5. Residents get 15% in the max pool and NR get their 5%. AZ rules say NR can get up to 10% but they don't have to get 10% but all one has to do is look at the bonus reports every year...
