dang this ruining never stops, every transplant wants to find open space and build on it. screwing our open space and wildlife winter range as much or more than wolf issues. it will become the place you escaped from. buy an existing house.

Im getting the idea Tristate has sniffed a bit too much skull cleaning bleach. He cant even see that he called Randy a liar.
For kicks i skimmed back over this thread and he calls Randy a liar at least 7 times.
Meanwhile Randy attempted to be courteous to the steaming troll pile.
Excellent point NEmont.
I think the truth is that nothing will make some people happy unless the land is developed for profiteering. They hide behind an endless screen of justifications and crazy rationale that cannot be followed by a logical person. They are simply afraid to state the truth...
Wow Tristate, you are a real piece of work. I think this thread can be boiled down to 99.9% respect for Randy and his efforts and 0.01% tolerance of your behavior.
ElkAssassin - your posts are nauseating and i hereby nominate you for the award of the dumbest person currently using the internet. You might want to get some help.
30k per acre that really made me laugh. Try a fraction of that and then also explain what the Rockies will be like once we've privatized them and turned our country into Europe.
LAST EDITED ON Feb-16-16 AT 10:10AM (MST)[p]OOPS BAD MISSPELL.
If R's succeed in selling our public lands as many of them want to, i wont have much use for my guns anymore. Im sick of this chit!
Representative Jason Chaffetz (R) of Utah introduced House Bill 435 to auction off 3.3 million...
Good Job NeMont, keep at these two mental giants. We need to good, smart people attempting to school the self serving, zealous and ignorant types so they dont get big ideas that they are not an outspoken minority of our pop.
What bundy's funding website up to now, maybe 360 supporters? In his...
Ive been using an Alaknak II tent for years for horseback elk hunts and am very happy with it. We use a wood stove and pack in some remote areas.
Im wondering about lightening the load by leaving the poles home. Anyone tried cutting their own wood poles for the Alaknak? How did it go?
thanks
My understanding is Wyoming has many less biologists on staff than my home state of Montana. I was told they accomplish alot of studies using the universities that we use full time bios for here in montana. Maybe the reduced staff is why the responses vary
Anyone have a trail saddle they like? After many years of using an old circle y saddle I'm ready to buy something comfortable. Been thinking about a Tucker but don't know much about higher end saddles.
Thanks!
lotsa great stuff in that video. rap music, flatbrimmed hats, long range shooting, hooting and hollering like high school cheerleaders after the kill, gang kill pic, hang loose hand signals. lots to like there!
Im not a fan of guides, many of them have been really rude in my experiences but a few have been nice.
That said, just because someone leaves a trailcam on a spot does not mean they have it reserved for themself. I can easily see that "reserved" nonsense being abused.
All I can tell you is the outfitter pressure in that area is ridiculous. Big country but way too many outfitter camps in that area of the scapegoat wilderness, many of them and when I've thought I've found an area without a permitted camp have run into outfitters operating illegally. Really...
LAST EDITED ON Sep-30-13 AT 03:51PM (MST)[p]I am in the exact same situation. Im a montana resident but want to do the same hunt next year in 61 and have all my own horses and camp setup. I dont have a resident guide yet. If your interested in talking let me know.
NVBighorn you may as well change your handle to CaptainAsshHat,
because that is how everyone sees you know.
your last post just triple confirmed it.
Matt, i dont know you but way to go!
So are you saying if you can't get to it and hunt in a day and be back home the country may as well be wiped off the face of the earth. Doesn't sound like you give a rip about habitat or elk, just your comfort and ease. Don't worry there are plenty of average guys who go there and don't find it...
I'm astounded by the whining by people who claim they can't access roadless lands. I guess you are the guys I'm trying to avoid as I walk into roadless country. Sorry to you guys who can appreciate what was once wild and is lost forever.
Has corner crossing always been illegal in montana? When i was a boy first hunting in the 80s we used to cross corners. I remember the landowner telling us it was OK with him but dont know if it was legal.
hmmm access to public land by crossing at the section corners shot down by republicans. Funny how republicans are clamoring for access anytime the discussion is about roadless areas, yet when it comes to access to our public lands by stepping across at a corner they are suddenly against access.
woops my life has been a mess and i missed the wyoming elk non resident deadline. can someone please tell me if i can still buy preference points this year, or am i gonna gonna go down in the point pool?
thanks.
all i can say is please dont build a huge house in the mountains, there a zillions of leftover trophy homes from all the people coming from the cities to "carve out" their montana dream. its getting phugly here.
When you apply for just about any state this same situation arises. I feel people should be responsible for their own understanding of the units and regs.
WTF do you expect in a state that has millions and millions more people than the entire country of Canada. Too many people = less freedom to move. california sucks worst in the nation already even before this.
After reading this post i took a look at the gallery, and yes there are a few of people shed hunting with their ATVs off the trails.
However it appears that many of the ATV guys in the pics are white and pudgy and they hike in mall clothes. Im concerned these big bellied softies wouldnt be as...
From everything I have read the SFW action that rubs me worst is that they actively tried to derail the bill that got wolves delisted in montana and idaho. Now after the fact they are lying and trying to take credit for the same bill (Simpson-Tester) and unforunately selling the pile of BS to...
LAST EDITED ON Apr-01-12 AT 07:10PM (MST)[p]Considering that other states such as wyoming round up even if quota is exceeded by a tag or two, it was a perfectly valid question. Montana does round down though.
MTSHEDZ i wish your trailer park would lose its internet.
Whats with this "beating a dead horse" BS? Sounds like Don Peay has a bully gang and when he finally gets called to the carpet they have a bunch of childish things to say.
LAST EDITED ON Mar-31-12 AT 09:05AM (MST)[p]it is interesting that Don Peay chose to post on this thread rather than on the new thread setup for him to debate with Big Fin. Also, not sure if people noticed but the below response was given to Peay's comments about another user here, see below...
