Thanks for the comments guys! He was 17 1/8 on the long horn. Just the way B&C scores, I had to take the 3rd mass measurement above the prong. Had it worked out slightly different, he would have been in the 90s.
The taxidermy was done by a young man who I coached in wrestling for several years...

I posted this on the Oregon board.
I will post a complete story on my blog as soon as I can, but here is the short story.
After waiting 13 years for a tag, I was finally able to go on an antelope hunt again...
I found this guy on tuesday before the season. after missing opportunities on days 1 & 2, I was able to get to less than 50 yards on day 5.
17 1/8 tall, 85 1/8 gross, 82 4/8 gross
Beatty Butte deer 3 points, East beatty antelope 13 points, North Malheur 2 elk 0 points, can't do sheep, but applied for goat to see if I become one of the special guys that can say they have had sheep and goat in Oregon.
When I was 13, my Dad gave me his Model 70 30-06. He died less than a year later. I have used it to hunt everything from coyotes to elk in the 32 years since.
I hunted the south part of region D this year. I saw very few deer on public land. No big bucks, I killed the biggest one that I saw. I have written a story on the hunt, it is on my blog.

I will be hunting deer with a region D tag. I am wondering if you have to camp in a designated campground when on the national forest, or can you just camp in a good spot? Any info is appreciated. Thanks
Great story and awesome pics! It sounds like you had the hunt of a lifetime. I hope you get a chance to hunt these magestic creatures again some day. I hope that you read the story of my Eastern Oregon sheep hunt from this year. Good luck on your next sheep hunt.
LAST EDITED ON Sep-28-08 AT 05:42PM (MST)[p]Thanks for the nice comments. Yes the meat is excellent. It is easy to see why they were almost all killed off.
I also posted this on the Oregon page. Visit my blog to read the story, and please check out the sponsors, and leave comments.
Thanks, Jerry
