    MM Legends

I remember him well. As much as he loved to hunt, I think his ultimate dream was to be a Rock Star. I remember him telling us that he had a back stage pass to a group (can’t remember their name) that was touring with Guns N’ Roses. Anyway, if I remember it right, he was talking to a member of...

What's everybody in for now thats is done?

Bookcliffs Roadless Elk - 12 points (If I draw, I hope Bess has a good backpack). La Sal Mountain Goat - 1 point Kids and wife have a bunch of points but not even close to being in the max point pool. Biggest mistake I’ve made was starting 2 of my sons with moose points.

Bess: She has given up on vacations. I think that my last two Anniversaries were spent at the Chiropracter and making a trip to Costco... If she beat the the .0001 odds by drawing that Cache Moose permit, things will look up :D I do have an elk hunt planned if I draw and will need you as a...

    Time to Apply!

My wife and I applied for the tougher units this year as I have unexpectedly drawn Arizona elk and will draw (should) my Wyoming elk tag. My son has a really good bear tag as well that he did not think he would draw. Most of our time is already planned, which is good. If we do draw a tag, we...

If I was rich like Bess, I would get a honda. I am on my second Kawaskai Teryx. My son rolled my first one and the insurance company totaled it. My friend called them and offered to buy it. He ended up fixing the frame and is still driving it. I know a year or two back, it had over 10,000...

Cameroon - Lord Derby Eland hunt

Not a hundred percent sure but I believe that might be the case. Plus, there are limited areas that you can find them. Like everything else, I’m sure the prices will continue to go up. I think that one of the most interesting things about doing a hunt like this would be the experience of...

Cameroon - Lord Derby Eland hunt

SS: Disclosure- I have only hunted cape eland in South Africa which would not even compare to a lord derby eland. CA is certainly more qualified than me. With that said, I know a booking agent (Arjun Reddy) that I believe was advertising the hunts for around $30,000. The reports I’ve read...

Cameroon - Lord Derby Eland hunt

A bongo and a LDE would be a dream hunt and I doubt that there would be few, if any hunts that I would rather go on. CA: Have you hunted Bongo in Cameroon?

    Utah Bear credit card hits

Incredible, looks like my son drew. We have drawn 3 bear tags in 3 years. Each of us had 3 points when we drew. Hard to believe we have beat the odds on a tough draw, 3 years in a row. A few years before that, they drew two bear tags with 3 or less points.

    Draw Results are up

Thanks for posting this. I unexpectedly drew a 19a late elk tag. I only had 2 points so feel fortunate. It sounds like this can be a tough hunt. However, I am looking forward to hunting it. If any of you have hunted it, and could offer any advice, I’d appreciate it. I plan to do some...

    Who's going to be first?

I just saw my card balance drop. Did not even know when the cards would be hit…. It looks as if I drew a late elk tag. Either unit 19 or 21a. I know they’re not premium units but I’ll take it 😀

    Altamont Utah??

Bess: Now I know the Expo is rigged. Are you in on this? 2 Expo tags are going to Altamont? In other words, 75% of the population, in one town gets a tag? I hope that you are happy!

Anyone wanna talk lead ballons? Do you have any in your collection? Any you want for your collection?

I have one in a Browning A-Bolt. My dad won it in a raffle several years ago and he then gave it to me. I took it as a back-up gun on a Henry's Bison hunt. It is a good thing I did as I slipped and fell with my .300 Win and did some severe damage to it (scope mounts). The 7mm WSM worked out...

    Bull elephant or stone sheep?

What a great question. I’d take the sheep hunt. However, I would love to hunt elephant. I’ve killed all the plains game that I want to, and elephant would be high on my list. Elephant often get a bad rap, in my opinion because people have either watched too many Disney movies or have never...

    Debt Free

Great point, and yes I realize that. I’m still paying it off, I guess I’m stubborn. To each their own, there are worse financial decisions than being debt free. You are not wrong either. I’d be a few thousand ahead, if I went the CD route, based on my current interest rate. That few thousand...

Brian: You make a good argument. I have a rental that is at 2.75% on a 15 year loan. I can either pay it off this summer or take that money and put it into CD. I’m sure I’ll get some heat for my math and my decision, but I’ll give it a go…. I currently pay about 1,000 a month in interest. I...

You absolutely can do it. My suggestion, would be to work a second job, one that you enjoy, and use that money towards paying it off. It is a pain, but worth it.

    Debt Free

I had a financial advisor tell me I was wrong for paying off my house early (this was 7-8 years back). Of course, he used the “invest your money for better returns” argument. However, I went against his advice and paid it off. I am certainly glad I did (in his defense he did make some good...
