WYGF stiffs NR, then begs them for $

From an article in Powell Trubune: The breakdown of revenue is surprising. The department brings in about $56.3 million in licenses and fees and 77% of that comes from non-residents. At first glance, the large amount of licenses and fees generated from nonresidents could lead to the...

Wyoming G and H non resident tags cut again

What is lost in the conversation is that Wyo allows for eye guards to count (any protrusion). So potentially a 3x4 is really a 2x3 and while he might have great genetics he is fair game to those who must fill their tag. Wyo APR is “pointless,” pun intended.

    Shop Builders?

After building several stick framed shop/trophy rooms at other homes. My latest, after a move from NV to TX, is a 50x60x12 spray foam insulated metal building. Has 3/12 roof pitch where end gable wall is 3/4 sanded and stained plywood over standard framing for trophy hanging. I couldn’t be...

    Corner Crossing Lawsuit Update

The argument should be made that the private property was artificially inflated by the feature and belief of having landlocked public land the ass-hat owner thought he had to himself, his clients, paying guests. He guessed wrong and that land is only “devalued” to what it should be since he...

    Realtors

It’s my experience realtors lack knowledge and experience, and would sell anything under any terms as they are fairly insulated legally. Most don’t know how to write a counter offer. I’ve bought/sold several w/o realtor. In a realtor represented purchase attempt I had my agent verbally disclose...

    Wilderness Guide Law

That’d be correct, license prof guide. Law clearly states must be “accompanied by.” Unless their perspective has changed its prohibited. So … I know lots of other guides who are buddies and if they merely “accompany” me then they are guiding on NF/wilderness and would need a use permit.

    Wilderness Guide Law

As a NR WOGA licensed guide I am still prohibited from hunting on my own tag in Wyoming wilderness areas. So it’s not about safety or skills and knowledge. It’s about being under contract with outfitter licensed on that specific NF/wilderness area. It’s about as crap a law as has ever been written.

    90/10 not going away...

Most of them $$$$ probably go to tIp NR guides like myself who use a wheel barrow to haul the greenbacks back to our home states, where we in turn applying/buy our preference points in Wyoming. True … but funny

    90/10 not going away...

Any statement by residents or outfitters about wanting parity with other states is disingenuous without including including in that conversation the WY wilderness restrictions on NR.

    90/10 not going away...

All this talk about “fair,” which implies one’s feelings being taken into account. Let’s talk equitable because everyone’s butt hurt feelings aren’t relevant. As a NR I say good on y’all if you get 90/10 or 90/5/5. Now let’s be equitable and apply that to Gen deer as well. Maybe then we can...

    Shiras cape

I have a Shiras cape available if someone has a need for such. Moose taken this year in Utah. It’s caped long for shoulder or pedestal mount, raw, and frozen. I don’t need anything for it, just cover the cost of getting it shipped and it’s yours. Just hate to throw it away.

Real damage of the task force

To think 90/10 will become law of the cowboy state without some resident public land hunter sacrifice somewhere along the way would be fool hearted. As with most things political and with so many stakeholders there is likely to be some required “give” on the resident side of things.

    Wyoming Resident hunters lobby group

It is somewhat disingenuous to have legislation or even a conversation about 90/10 without addressing the fact WY limits NR in wilderness areas and gives some unlimited general/region resident tags. If WY wants 90/10 then let’s do it across the board and remove NR wilderness restrictions. These...

    Utah late muzzleloader deer hunts

I burned my 12 NR points on a late muzzy hunt last year. The mature bucks were just starting to emerge on last years dates. No regrets and pleased to be out of the points chase for UT deer. I also spent NV points on a reissued muzzy tag and will spend WY points this year. Getting out of the...

WY Elk Unit 24 or 62

I’ve hunted 60 guided in bear country and 24 DIY. I much prefer the 24 hunt and bulls I took were about same caliber. I have no experience in 62, guess depends on what type hunt you want. I personally can’t find any reason to go back into insanely unmanaged bear country.
