    2022 Colorado Archery Buck

That is the exo mountain 5500 with a lid. It's the older K2 frame but LOVE this pack. Everything came out in one trip, camp, most of my food, the entire deer, etc. Figured it was about 105 lbs all said and done. Slow and steady down the mountain, but well worth making only one trip. Pack...

    2022 Colorado Archery Buck

I was lucky enough to pack into an area I hunted back in 2019. I tweaked my plan and camping spot a little bit and gave myself some seclusion from hikers and bikers. I was able to pick up a group of bucks Thursday afternoon when making camp as they re-bedded for the day. I then spotted them...

    2022 Hunting Adventures

Long story short, that group of bucks was the first group I picked up at first light at about a mile away. I figured they'd be up and feeding for a few hours, and they were really high on the ridge, so my plan was to cut the distance and just not get busted to see what they were going to do. I...

    2022 Hunting Adventures

During my camp setup, I was able to pick up a group of 4 bucks rebedding for the day. I went out to my initial glassing point that evening and found them again, and figured there were 2 bucks in the group that I would shoot. A Solid 150s 4x4 and a gnarly 3x2 who had the largest body in the...

    2022 Hunting Adventures

My high country Colorado hunt started off pretty sweet. I had a spot closer to the road where I could scout for a few days. Ended up turning up 8 bucks on the Wednesday before the opener, but only saw 1 that evening and 2 the next morning, with plenty of other company in the basin I decided I...

    Unit 74 bears

Elkhuntn or Brook, could you send me a PM, I am leaving for 74 for the 2nd time in 3 years and I'd love to pick your brain a little bit. Pretty please and thank you :)

    Couple AZ governor tag bucks

I was going to say the same thing. That means, in any of these crazy good units, a 230-240 buck would have to slip through the cracks, or a 200" buck slips through for 2 years? Between trail cams, winter range photographers and shed chasers, I find it unlikely, BUT ANYTHING is possible!

    Same to you.

Would you be getting after this one?

I actually think you're better off hunting a buck like this in a basin that has less deer. Less eyes when you finally do get the chance, and a lower deer density basin might keep guys out of there, where they give a quick look, miss this deer and move on and don't return. I think a small...

    Give me a rough score.

As a fellow archery guy (who's never shot a buck over 170 with my bow) the toughest thing for you is going to be having a 181" buck bedded in a perfect spot, where you can get to 40 yards fairly easily and trying to decide if you want to wait and dig this guy up so you can measure him for us...

    Give me a rough score.

Are people really tossing around the idea of not shooting this buck at first light on opening day? I mean come on...I'm calling bullshit. 190.....and if he's 189" I promise you'll still be happy :)

    Fawn reports from scouting.??

A deer's insatiable desire to breed and spread genes. Both sexes will travel extensively to mate. I'd be happy to forward you some studies of you'd like. ?

Unit 49 Elk! Who do I believe?

The problem with this is literally EVERYONE who watches meat eater (not me) has the same idea. And thus, will contribute to the point creep that everyone already hates...before you now it, it will be a 12 point unit. Over hyped, over hunted, disappointing

Good to see Coloradoboy is still full of his piss and vinegar "go scout it yourself" attitude even 10 years later :) The best things never change

    2022 Hunting Adventures

Excited as usual for the upcoming season! Another year older, time sure does fly. Started the year with grabbing some Merriam tags out west for my first out of state turkey hunt. It's funny because 5-10 years ago I didn't even hunt turkeys, now I just love to spend spring taking the kids and...

Fuel price and change to hunt plans?

I agree...HUNT. These opportunities with your kids are worth their weight in gold. I will be honest though, I have decided to take mn VW Jetta to Colorado and leave the Silverado at home. I may have to hike farther, but I can get there and back for cheaper than just getting there in the truck

Hey guys, Looking for someone local to those towns or someone who knows the area well. I drew 74 archery again this year, and have some spots that Ive hunted in the past and know decently well. I wanted to pick someones brain about a particular area, and some of the popular off...

    Wyo outfitter, landowner, DIY battle!

So you are discouraging a guy for taking an active role in conservation and trying to not allow premium random tags to be allocated to hard working hunters? It's just ok for tags to follow the money like in every other aspect of life? You sound like a real first class ******* in my opinion :)

You sound like an ignorant prick. He said it was in 2003....and for a lot of non-residents, anybody who can give you boots on the ground info without having boots on the ground is a benefit. Check out this area, these drainages, this creek or hike in on this trail is all some guys need. I...

Will the Covid hunting euphoria slow down?

I know we all love getting political in here but it sure grinds my gears when old sleepy Joe "condemns" Russia but refuses to stop buying Russian oil. We have the ability to turn on all these oil permits and pumps and we are slaves to the green crowd. We could flood the market, become the...
