I have used the Gaia GPS app on my iphone for some time now and find it to do everything that I need and more. It can track and mark waypoints and navigate just like any GPS plus the screen is bigger. You can download your tracks also just like other GPS units. I have been a long time...
I have historically been a real proponent for Garmin GPSs and still own and use several including the Garming Rino which is one of my favorite because of the radio combination. I still like the Garmin HOWEVER I have an iphone and have been using a couple of gps programs. One is called Gaia GPS...
I did not have it tested for CWD. I had talked to a wildlife biologist and he never suggested that or said that CWD could be a cause. Have you heard of that being a possible cause of velvet antlers like this?
LAST EDITED ON Oct-23-13 AT 10:27AM (MST)[p]No, the testicles were normal as far as I could tell. I talked to a Wyoming wildlife biologist and he suggested the same thing also. He said that it is more common in deer. The other thing he said it might be is a tumor in the pituitary gland or...
I got this in Wyoming on October 16. I am mostly a bowhunter but had an unfilled tag from the archery hunting I did in September so I went back into the same area for the opener on the rifle hunt and unbelievably found this bull in velvet still.
I don't know how I got my 5th choice but I know nothing of this unit. Can anyone help. I am an archery hunter but I am guessing that come November I will have to hunt with a rifle. I don't remember why I put in for this but I could really use some help understanding what I am in for. I have...

In some respects I hesitate to post this gps track of a wolf since it did not come from a verified or known source off the internet but hopefully someone can verify it. If it is true it came with a message...
I am surprised that only one other found the pack to be noisy. Both my friend and I had this pack for a short time and found them to be extremely noisy and could not find a way to get them quiet. I really like all the other aspect of the pack except for that. If I was not a bowhunter that is...
It was 6A. I am not sure however if I would recommend this unit to others. Granted I got a great bull but from talking to many others this unit in general is considered somewhat average. It is not a big unit. I think I got lucky and found a little pocket that held some decent bulls and was...
Here is the bull I shot in Arizona this year. I had seen a few bigger ones but could not close the deal on them. It was hot and pretty tough hunting for a guy used to the "high mountain alpine" hunting. I had a great trip though. I had basically given up on the evening and was headed back...
Does anyone have any information regarding 6A West they would be willing to share? I have been lucky enough to draw this as a second choice but do not know anything about the unit to be honest.
I need some help with a Wyoming General tag. The areas that I used to hunt and that I am familiar with are not working out I think due to wolves. I would like to hunt this coming week. I am coming from Utah and would hope that I could find some general areas worth hunting somewhere in the...
It has been extremely frustrating to say the least to have so many spike hunters in my limited entry unit that I used 8 years of points to acquire. Almost all my scouting seems to be for nothing as all the places I thought I found that I would be able to be pretty much on my own have been...
this is the first completely rubbed bull I have seen scouting this year that already has dark horns with ivory tips. Not the "big" one I am looking for but a nice looking bull.

Have you ever seen such a rub? I think the largest tree I have seen up to now that had an elk rub was about 8 inches in diameter. You may not be able to tell from the picture but the bigger tree is about 14 to 16 inches in diameter.
Ok try these links. I think I have it now.

Ok, I looked at that one and like it. I also liked the 3130 head. What do you think about that one? I will mostly use this from a vehicle or from an ATV but It does not look so heavy that I would be afraid of packing it somewhere.
Having seen him in person I also think that he is going to end up in the 340-350 range. I know it is difficult from pictures but I was hoping to be able to somewhat validate my thoughts on him. I also think that he is a young bull and has the potential to really be something in a couple of...
Actually the part I would like is the DCB or Digital Camera Base that allows you to attach many different types of cameras to the scope. They want over $400 for it. It is probably $10 of plastic. There has got to be some other option. I do like how it can swing out of the way and back.
Thanks,I really have not quite figured out how to get good pictures through the scope yet. Does anyone know what is the best setting for focus? I have tried manual and set it to infinity and I have tried macro and automatic. Regardless I just can't seem to get a real good clear picture. It...
