Spine seems to be correct. Are you shooting the same arrow every time through paper? If so, try different arrows and try spinning the nock to the next vane and shoot that through paper see if that helps. Basically nock tune your arrows

I haven't done anything with the spinning inserts. Like you said, just one more thing to break. With my vane set up I get plenty of spin.

I run the victory vap v1 250 elites with the ethics inserts/outserts. Very wide range or options as far as the weight goes. I've got the aluminum outserts installed in all my arrows and can swap out the end piece to either run 65grs or 110grs.
