I shoot a T/C Encore .50, and have used BH209 for last couple years. It is by far the best propellant I have ever shot, (at least in my gun).

I shoot a T/C Encore, and use 100 gr BH209 with the Barnes T-EZ 290 grain bullet. This is a great load. After shooting the Black Horn powder you will not want to shoot anything else.

I use a standard rifle 3x9 scope on my Encore, it works just fine. I shoot it on 3x if I'm shooting under 100 yds and crank it up to 9x if I'm shooting longer. I don't have much experience shooting longer shots with open sights so not much to offer on that.

I have shot BH 209 for the last 2 years, probably shot 100 or so times out of my Encore, never had a single misfire or hangfire. Sorry you had trouble, but its the best powder I've ever used, including 777, Pyrodex , Shockey Gold, and black powder.

NR unit 2 elk. It will be my first elk hunt. (hopefully).

I read where many people do this but not recommended. The accuracy seems to diminish when I try to shoot bigger loads from my encore.

I use the Stoney Point that folds down to about 12" or so, works good from sitting or kneeling position. They are light and I can keep it folded up and tucked away in my boot.

I shoot a T/C Encore, not the Prohunter, but I only have trouble with breech plug sticking when I don't take the time to clean the plug and the threads well, and/or don't use lots of the T/C lube on the plug threads. Especially using the BH209 it should not be overly cruddy. I scrub my threads...
