I have some experience with 81. Terrain wise it is your basic Colorado. Not extreme but not totally flat either. As far as hunting, I think it has been over hunted and you will see more orange than animals. But I have only hunted it with rifle . I would not spend non res $ to hunt it.

Don't forget to apply him for the Colorado youth outreach program. It is a cool free program that CPW puts on for youth hunters for deer and Cow elk on private ranches. One of my sons got drawn and it was a very memorable experience.

We have 3 SXS's currently. 2-2 seaters and 1-4 seater. 2 are polaris and 1 is a kawasaki. I have owned about everything at one time or another. I totally agree that using a sxs or a quad to travel over the rough stuff is the way to go rather than beating on your only ride home. Like others...

From a Colorado resident , I would say Wyoming or Montana. Might be some good areas left in Idaho as well. Califorado is a **** show beware!

I have as well when I burned 16 points on a 4th season buck tag. Maybe 1st rifle is for elk only and 4th season is for buck only or just not have a 4th season?

Well, I guess we can all agree to disagree. I think the ability to return a tag should be a little more strict but not SOL. It is easy for some to say at this stage but when life happens that decision would suck.

They call the next 5 inline for any 5+ point tag and if they all refuse it goes to the list. By the time all that happens it is usually close to or into the season already at which time I sure wouldn't want to burn my points with no time to prepare

I saw an absolute tank of a buck from the road to big creek lakes last summer while going fishing. I have points but not that many....

So if your son saved all those points and actually got the tag and some life changing event happened 30 days before season and he could not go, you think he should lose all his points???

Colorado does reach out to the next tag holder in line on units that require more than 5 points. If no one wants it, then it hits the leftover list. I have been contacted 3 times and asked if I want the tag
