So we took the kids out trying to find some sheds, came up empty a few times now. They were bummed, sad, a couple cried cause they couldn't find any. So what I'm asking is what are some tips? Where to look? Etc... I'm not asking for your secret spot or honey holes just a general idea of where...

So if I do put in and do draw this unit....basically I will have someone by my side telling me what to do? Sounds like a lot to put up with. So my question is are ALL cwmu units this same way? Im probably just better off putting in for limited entry deer...

I'm sorry to say that I have been putting in for the heaston unit, I think I would have been pretty disappointed if I did draw the tag and then had a horrible hunt, and had to deal with all the setbacks mentioned above. So what if I do draw a cwmu tag do I have to pay to hunt?

I did a little searching, looks like the operator for the heaston cwmu has tons of complaints. Also looks like he's not a very nice individual. Thanks wade for wanting to do a little digging into this cwmu.

Sounds like it wouldn't be fun at all.... how much would I need to pay the operator?

So I have to hunt with the operator if I don't pay? That's dumb. Is there any CWMU units that are good without all those dumb rules? I'm just wondering if I should put in for a CWMU or just use my points on a limited entry unit.

I don't care about the soil, I'm talking about hunting the unit. I know there are some giants on it. Just wondering if it's worth putting in for.

Has anyone drawn this cwmu for deer? If so how was your experience? How was the hunting? Are you able to hunt the whole unit and when you want? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Been trying for this cwmu for the past 3 or 4 years now, i will have 10 points now for next years draws. I have heard the main operator is a jerk from a few people now since i posted this the other day. I would want to hunt when i want and where i wanted without someone telling me where to shoot...

Has anyone in here ever drew the heaston east cwmu? Whats the hunt like? experience they had on the hunt, how is the operator? etc....

Shot this buck in his bed at 155 yards on the second day of the general season. We were pushing the brush through a canyon with four other friends two on each side of the canyon. As i was walking i stopped to glass the opposite hill side and saw my buddy standing probably 100 yards or so behind...

Anyone on this forum do any hunting down this way? Not lookong for your secret spot but some info would help me out alot, want to take my son down on the rifle with me and try and get a deer it will be his first experience hunting. Thanks for your time ,please let me know.

My opinion............ its fishy! They need to draw by hand! Not by some computer program or whatever they are using. Just my 2 cents.

Heard he paid 10k to hunt kennecott......just a rumor dont know if its true or not

i got a pic on my cell phone of a huge deer supposably taken on kennecotts property, dont know if its true or not. But its big!

Sounds kinda strange they would leave the body behind, DWR would take the whole thing! Sounds to me someone cut the head off and took it home! Big trouble if you ask me i hope whoever took it gets caught. You should of waited for the DWR to get there. They may have let you keep it if you paid to...
