Saw plenty on the wrong side of fence but very slim pickings everywhere else. We had a couple opportunities on broken horns and several subadults early in the hunt but we were looking for a mature animal that had both horns intact. Much harder hunt than years past off range hunts.

if you have verizon you will have good cell coverage anywhere up high. i wouldnt recommend camping up on the rim, your gonna freeze your butt off and winds are brutal. Much better to camp a few miles down off the rim, plenty of protected spots down low.

Do yourself a favor and throw those powerbelts in the trash. Hands down worst performing muzzleloader bullet for elk.

Was out today up on smouse and Crowe . Holy mother of mud! The roads are really trashed. I've hunted 2b several times and I ain't ever seen mud like this. Almost stuck the tundra several times with chains on all 4. Saw sevetal different groups of does but no bucks Rut seems to be wrapping up.
