There are some crops in Columbia basin, potatoes, watermelons and winter wheat. Most of the deer are in the CRP. Here is where Oregon is at now with managing for 8 to 12 bucks. It appears that didn’t work and are now going to monitor harvest.

really depends on the unit. Some of the northern are easier to draw but the big ones in southeastern unit have dismal odds in both draws.

Just raffle off some more tags at the expo and it will be fixed. Pretty clear that in the name of opportunity the deer herd is getting pummeled in this unit. Right thing would be to reduce tags significantly.

Utah does by issuing one tag in most limited entry deer draws. Utah is not a Mecca for out of state hunters. They make Nevada seem out of control with their deer tag numbers.

2003-2007 were bomb seasons. I saw the first decline in 2008 and then 2011. Then a slow steady decline after that. I wish I would have kept better records.
